ActionVest is a property management company serving Boston, Brighton, Beacon Hill, Cambridge and Somerville. Our company was created in the early 1990's, when ActionVest formed an investment group to purchase residential real estate. During this time, we acquired several apartment buildings in Boston. Realizing that our investments needed close supervision, we met with several supposed "professional" management firms. Eventually, we contracted with a couple of firms.

Our experiences were disappointing. What was termed "management" was instead an organized method of "going through the motions." These firms had no investment experience and no understanding of "VALUE." Hence, they were ignorant of the affect that their actions would have on a property's value. Furthermore, while they generated voluminous written reports, there was very little useful information provided to us. By the time we purchased a block of 200 units in one condominium association, we knew the type of management firm we needed.

We created ActionVest Management Corp. (AVMC) to manage our portfolio. ActionVest's responsibility is to increase a property's value. Through careful consideration of market conditions and improvement alternatives, AVMC ensures implementation of the most cost-effective revenue enhancements. Additionally, AVMC uses its size to purchase supplies and services at a discount. Finally, a sophisticated computer system tracks daily expenses and revenues, allowing AVMC to provide accurate financial information quickly.
As our portfolio grew, AVMC began to manage properties for third parties. The apartment owners and condominium associations have benefited from AVMC's "ownership" bias. Over time, cash flow is always increased, allowing for greater reserves or more improvements. These results, of course, enhance the value of these properties, keeping owners satisfied with their investments.
